AZ Alkmaar won their top-of-the-table clash with PSV Eindhoven, while NAC Breda and Twente also claimed victories on the road on a dramatic day of Eredivisie action.
Jefferson Farfan broke the deadlock for PSV after 20 minutes, only for Moussa Dembele to equalise five minutes into the second half.
Julian Jenner then fired AZ ahead (63), but their lead lasted barely two matters as Philip Cocu drew PSV level.
There was still time for one last twist, as Danny Koevermans (pictured) popped up with one minute remaining to drag AZ to within six points of their rivals.
There was also late drama at Heracles, where the home side came from behind to draw 2-2 with Willem II.
Said Boutahar opened the scoring for Willem after 30 minutes, but Stefaan Tanghe responded for Heracles in the 80th minute.
Kristof Imschoot restored Willem's lead with a 90th minute penalty, but Ramos Everton rescued a point for Heracles deep into stoppage time.
Twente secured a 2-1 win at Excelsior to stay fourth. Karim El Ahmadi (33) and Blaise N'Kufo (45) found the target for Twente, while Johan Voskamp (35) scored for Excelsior.
Glen Salmon was the star as NAC beat RKC Waalwijk 2-1 to move up to seventh.
Salmon struck twice for NAC (27 and 73), while Ruud Berger netted for RKC (30) before Hans Mulder was sent off late on for deliberate handball.
