Mido issues apology

AHMED 'MIDO' HOSSAM has issued an apology to Ajax technical director Leo Beenhakker and coach Ronald Koeman for comments he made on Friday, when he declared he would leave Amsterdam in the next transfer window.

The Egyptian ace was still smarting at being substituted against Groningen and told he would not start against Zwolle, when he went on Dutch television and said he was leaving the club.

The centre forward appears to have calmed down over the weekend, as he apologised to the two officials as well as his team-mates.

Mido will still be subject to a club fine, but should soon be pushing for a place in Koeman`s first-team, although he will not figure against Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The forward has performed admirably since arriving at Ajax, and there are sure to be a clutch of teams monitoring the situation closely ahead of the next transfer window.
