The keeper, who has performed well since being given the gloves at the start of the campaign, has a hamstring injury.
He was forced to leave the field mid-way through the first-half, with Henk Timmer taking his place between the sticks.
Ajax initially feared he had suffered a hamstring injury, and tests in Amsterdam confirmed the news.
"It looks as if he will be out for a few weeks," said Ajax boss Ronald Koeman (pictured).
Koeman has had a torrid few months with injuries to his keepers, but the problems seem to be easing with both Timmer and Joe Didulica now available for selection.
