ArenA draw favours PSV

PSV EINDHOVEN were the big winners on Sunday, as title rivals Ajax and Feyenoord played out a 1-1 draw in Amsterdam.

The Eindhoven side eked out a 1-0 win over RKC Waalwijk on Saturday, which put pressure on Feyenoord and champions Ajax.

Ronald Koeman`s Ajax started brightly, and delighted the Amsterdam ArenA faithful with the opening goal on 28 minutes.

Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic (pictured) seems to have finally settled into life in Holland, and he collected a ball from Andy van der Meyde to open the scoring.

Robin van Persie`s five-goal show in midweek earned him a starting place for Feyenoord, and he repaid the faith shown in him by coach Bert van Marwijk by firing the visitors level on the stroke of half-time.

PSV now have a four-point cushion over Ajax at the top, while the lead over Feyenoord is 11 points.

Second half goals by Mike Zonneveld and Franck Demouge earned NEC Nijmegen a 2-0 win over NAC Breda.

Utrecht`s hopes of securing a European place were dealt a blow as they were held to a 2-2 home draw by Excelsior.

Excelsior were twice in front through Patrick Mtiliga and Rene van Dieren but Utrecht showed fine spirit and goals by Paulus Roiha and Dirk Kuyt snatched them a point.

Sunday`s other game between Groningen and Twente ended goalless.
