The pair were handed three and five game bans respectively for their actions during the recent Amstel Cup clash with Feyenoord.
Swedish striker Ibrahimovic was caught on camera aiming an elbow at a Feyenoord defender, and the Dutch FA hit him hard - with his suspension ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
Chivu`s wild tackle has cost him three of Ajax`s remaining five games, but Ajax have confirmed they plan to appeal against their captain`s suspension.
The controversy surrounding the game is set to continue, as Feyenoord striker Pierre van Hooijdonk was sent-off for an innocuous incident.
Van Hooijdonk has protested his innocence throughout, but the KNVB have backed referee Roelof Luinge`s view of the incident and handed the Dutch international a two-game ban.
The player who was allegedly on the receiving end of van Hooijdonk`s attack, Jelle van Damme, initially said the striker did not touch him but he changed his mind during the hearing.
Van Hooijdonk has lodged an appeal, so the saga is set to continue.
