Chivu's title cry

AJAX captain Cristian Chivu has hammered out a warning to PSV Eindhoven, saying they will not give up their Eredivisie title without a fight.

PSV`s 3-1 defeat at Feyenoord opened the door for Ajax and they did not disappoint, handing out a 7-1 drubbing to De Graafschap.

Ajax trail PSV by three points, with Feyenoord a further point adrift, and with two games remaining Chivu has warned the Eindhoven outfit that they will capitalise on any slip ups.

Chivu missed the win over De Graafschap due to suspension but will return for next week`s clash with Twente.

"Ajax had to win and because PSV lost, the players are hoping for the title again," he told the club`s website.

"I expect us to win away at Twente and to put the pressure on PSV. But it`s not in our hands, however.

"Should PSV slip again, then we will be happy, but the most important thing for us is staying in second place so we can play in the Champions League again next season."

Ajax have a trip to Twente followed by a home game with Heerenveen on the final day of the season, while PSV entertain Utrecht before facing a match at Groningen.
