Koeman was at a low ebb following Saturday's defeat by Heerenveen and he even questioned his ability to turn the Amsterdam giants' form around.
Following a crisis meeting with the players on Sunday, Koeman was in a more positive frame of mind and he has the backing of the club's top brass.
"Of course everybody is disappointed," Ajax chairman John Jaakke told AT5. "But we still have complete trust that it will come right.
"Koeman has been trainer for more than two years now and, until the present, with good results.
"In such a period we must not panic."
Speaking after the game, a disappointed Koeman said: "How can we turn this around? Good question.
"It won't be simple and I don't know with 100 percent certainty if I am the man for the job. But I won't throw in the towel."
Koeman held a crisis meeting on Sunday and he emerged in a more positive frame of mind.
"I have got 100 percent trust that it will all come right," he told Telegraaf.nl. "It is logical that after such a game everybody speaks together.
"Everybody got the chance to say what they wanted. Now we have to make our football do the talking."
Ajax have a number of injury worries ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash with Maccabi Tel Aviv, with Wesley Sneijder, Nigel de Jong and Yannis Anastasiou all nursing knocks.
