Midfielder determined to make impact next season

Dutch midfielder Urby Emanuelson has insisted he remains committed to AC Milan and will not be leaving the club this summer. The 24-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot since making the move from Ajax to the San Siro in January. He has been linked with a summer departure after making just nine appearances, but maintains that nothing could be further from his mind. "Why would I leave Milan?" Emanuelson told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I am not the type of player to leave after only six months.

Developing

"I want to be part of the team at the start of this new cycle and want to pay back the club for the faith they have shown in me." Emanuelson hopes to prove his worth next season and convince AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri of his potential. "I am confident that I have what it takes to become an important player at Milan," he said. "You learn a lot tactically and physically in Italy. "I just have to be patient and continue developing."
