Mateja Kezman (pictured) opened the scoring on four minutes, capitalising on some fine play by Arnold Bruggink to fire high into the net from close-range.
Bruggink then went from provider to scorer on ten minutes, confidently slotting the ball home after finding space in the box.
Twente were never able to get on terms despite Chris de Witte handing them a lifeline with a superb solo goal after 33 minutes.
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was introduced after the break, and he proved a real threat against his old team but failed to get on the scoresheet.
Dennis Rommedahl restored PSV`s two-goal cushion with a close-range shot from a corner on 71 minutes, but Bjorn van der Doelen ensured a tense finish with a strike in the dying moments.
Twente, though, were unable to find an equaliser and Erik Gerets`s men lifted the Johan Cruyff trophy at the Amsterdam ArenA.
