Beukenkamp believes the club moved too quickly to find a replacement for him, after he recovered quicker than expected from a hamstring injury.
The 35-year-old should be fit to play again this month, and believes there was little call to add another custodian to the club's ranks.
PSV agreed to loan out ten Rouwelaar so he could gain some first-team experience, but Beukenkamp insists he expects to reclaim his number-one jersey as soon as he is fit.
"If I'm fit, I expect to play. That seems logical to me", said Beukenkamp.
"Do they know at FC Groningen how I think about it? I think so."
