PSV Eindhoven will not pay Club Brugge's asking price for Timmy Simons.Club Brugge may have priced midfielder Timmy Simons out of another potential move to Holland after PSV Eindhoven echoed Feyenoord in expressing their concern with the transfer fee demanded by the Belgian outfit.
A move to De Kuip collapsed after Feyenoord became disenchanted with both the club and player's financial demands and, although having agreed personal terms, De Eredivisie rivals PSV could also drop their interest due to the prohibitive fee.
The concern has arisen as the Club Brugge skipper is already 28 years of age, and the PSV hierarchy are unwilling to stump up the cash demanded by their Belgian counterparts as a result.
PSV chairman Rob Westerhof voiced the club's disappointment with the price tag slapped on Simons's head, and suggested that at the current asking price Guus Hiddink would not be landing his man.
"With the player we are complete, but the asking price of é¼5 million is much too high for us," Westerhof told De Telegraaf.
Despite the problems encountered in negotiations between the two clubs, Simons's agent Guy Bonnet still believes his client is likely to depart his current surroundings.
"The chance of him leaving has become very big, the water is less deep than at Feyenoord," Bonnet insisted.
