PSV Eindhoven's winning run in the Eredivisie came to a halt on Boxing Day.
PSV Eindhoven's winning run in the Eredivisie came to a halt on Boxing Day, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Feyenoord.
Way back on October 15, PSV embarked on a winning run which spanned 12 games and took them nine points clear at Christmas.
They had beaten rivals AZ Alkmaar and Ajax along the way, but were unable to get the better of Feyenoord at De Kuip.
Things started well for PSV as Philip Cocu gave them the lead on 24 minutes.
Feyenoord rallied, though, and Angelos Charisteas' goal six minutes before the break earned the home side a point.
Two late goals from Kristof Imschoot helped Willem II come from behind to beat to Excelsior, who had led for long periods through Andwele Slory, 2-1.
Edwin van Bueren proved to be the hero for Sparta Rotterdam, as his goal just after the hour proved the undoing of Groningen.
