Eredivisie round-up

PSV Eindhoven put the pressure back on Ajax in the Dutch title race.

PSV Eindhoven put the pressure back on Ajax in the Dutch title race with a 2-0 win over lowly RKC Waalwijk.

Ronald Koeman's charges are hunting a third straight Eredivisie title and they racked up their 21st win of the season on Saturday.

Jefferson Farfan set PSV on their way to victory with a fine free-kick with only three minutes on the clock.

RKC failed to fashion a response and Alcides turned home Alex's clever pass on 18 minutes to secure victory.

NAC Breda's hopes of claiming a European berth were dealt a blow as they slipped to defeat at Groningen.

Mark Jan Fledderus fired Groningen ahead on seven minutes and after Edwin de Graaf had levelled the scores, former Manchester United man Erik Nevland restored the home side's advantage on 67 minutes.

NAC had Mike Zonnelveld sent off on 78 minutes and Koean van de Laak made the points safe by netting from the spot a minute later.

Excelsior scored twice in the final ten minutes to claim a thrilling 3-2 win at Vitesse Arnhem.

The home side seemed on course for victory after goals from Danko Lazovic and Ruud Knol sandwiched a fine volley from Johan Voskamp to put them 2-1 ahead.

However, the Gelredome faithful were stunned into silence as Eldridge Rojer and the prolific Andwele Slory scored to hand the away side the most unlikely of victories.

The fans in Tilburg were not treated to any goals as Willem II and Sparta played out a 0-0 draw.
