Sven Goran Eriksson is considering launching a fresh bid to bring Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma to Leicester when the loan window reopens next week.
The Foxes had a loan deal all but wrapped up for the young Dutchman on deadline day, but the Premier League champions were unwilling to let the 19-year-old leave Stamford Bridge until the signing of David Luiz was concluded.
That deal was eventually completed with just minutes to spare before the 11pm deadline and, when the papers were filed for Bruma's move, they arrived too late with the powers that be.
But Eriksson, speaking after Tuesday night's victory at Sheffield United, has not ruled out the possibility of rekindling a deal.
"It was very close but I think there was a lot happening at Stamford Bridge between 10pm and 11pm," said Eriksson.
"What I heard is the clearance from Benfica (for Luiz) came just three or four minutes before 11pm. They wouldn't let anyone out until they got someone in, and I understand the difficulties.
"But we will see in one week's time if we are going to do anything or not. It might still be possible."
Teenager Bruma began his senior career at Chelsea after being snapped up by the club from native outfit Feyenoord as a youngster.
The Dutchman, capped once for his country, has made a total of four Premier League appearances for the Blues.
