The 34-year-old has been lured to De Eredivisie by the prospect of a two-year deal.
It would appear that the arrival of Kalezic has resulted in De Graafschap ending their interest in Twente's Serbian stopper Spira Grujic.
"After failing to secure Grujic, it was imperative that we changed gear quickly to secure Darije Kalezic as an acquisition for our defence," said De Graafschap's sporting director Johan Tukker.
"We are very happy with this arrival."
De Graafschap, meanwhile, have been dealt a blow with the news that new signing Rob van Dijk will miss the opening weeks of the season.
The veteran keeper only arrived at the club in the summer from PSV Eindhoven, but he has been forced to undergo an exploratory knee operation.
De Graafschap are hopeful that the surgery combined with rest will allow van Dijk to return at top form in September.
