Feyenoord chairman Jorien van den Herik is seeking showdown talks with coach Bert van Marwijk.
The Kuip supremo is distressed by Feyenoord's poor start to the season, with the club already out of Europe and off the pace domestically.
Van den Herik sanctioned a number of summer signings and is concerned by the fact that a large portion of the imports are languishing in the reserves.
"I am responsible for the financial side of things at Feyenoord and this club have to spend the money with care," he told Feyenoord Krant. "If three signings are not playing I want to get feedback after half a season."
It has been claimed that the club are in the middle of a transitional period, but van den Herik has dismissed this notion.
"I would agree if we had no money to spend," he continued. "But (Dirk) Kuyt, (Hossam) Ghaly, (Peter) van den Berg, (Alfred) Schreuder and (Jean) Donde were signed.
"Only Kuyt and Schreuder are first team players and I want the technical staff to tell me why."
