Babos back in favour

An injury to Patrick Lodewijks has handed Hungarian keeper Gabor Babos a Feyenoord lifeline.

Babos had been relegated to the bench following a mid-season dip in form and his position in Ruud Gullit's team had been taken by Lodewijks (pictured).

The Hungarian said recently that he was growing increasingly frustrated with his position in Rotterdam, but he has now been handed a lifeline by an injury to Lodewijks.

Lodewijks suffered a leg injury in the warm-up to the weekend win over RKC Waalwijk and he is expected to be sidelined for around three weeks.

"At the end of the warming-up I always shoot a couple of balls," the keeper told Feyenoord's website. "At the last ball I shot, I immediately felt that there was something wrong in my upper leg.

"I'm terribly fed up with it."
