Dynamo Kiev and BATE Borisov progress to play-offs

Ideye Brown was the hero for Dynamo Kiev yet again as they edged their way through a keenly-contested third qualifying round tie with Feyenoord. Elsewhere, BATE Borisov moved a step closer to the knockout stage after proving too strong for 10-man Debrecen. Dynamo Kiev entered a second leg encounter with Feyenoord looking to defend a narrow advantage secured on home soil. They did enough to ensure that it is they who progress at the expense of Eredivisie opposition, with a late effort handing them a 1-0 win and 3-1 aggregate success. In-form Brown grabbed the only goal of the game six minutes into stoppage-time to keep their European dreams alive.

Target

BATE Borisov are looking to grace the group stage for a third time and are now just one round away from hitting that target following a 2-0 win over Debrecen. A comfortable victory on Tuesday saw the Belarusian outfit through 3-1 on aggregate. Dmitri Mozolevski put them in front with 25 minutes on the clock and any hope the hosts had of hauling their way back into the tie evaporated shortly before the hour mark. Balazs Nikolov picked up a second yellow card on 57 minutes and two minutes later the Hungarian side were made to pay as Aleksandr Volodko grabbed BATE's second of the game.
