20-year-old Kolk will see out the remaining year of his contract with the Abe Lenstra Stadion outfit, despite gaining the interest of several other clubs.
He joined the Frisian club from ADO Den Haag two years ago but found it hard to earn himself a regular first team place under Heerenveen boss Foppe de Haan.
Finnish winger Mika Nurmela was preferred on the right side of midfield but with Anthony Lurling joining Feyenoord, Kolk may get an opportunity on the left side this season.
Kolk shined for Holland's Under-20 side at last summer's World Youth Championships in Argentina and is considered a top prospect in Dutch football.
