Striking ace sidelined with broken collarbone

Utrecht have been handed a major blow with the news star striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel has broken his collarbone. The Dutch international suffered the injury after falling awkwardly during Utrecht's goalless UEFA Europa League draw at Liverpool on Wednesday night and may have to undergo surgery. Van Wolfswinkel was able to travel back to the Netherlands on Thursday after being discharged from hospital in England, but is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The 21-year-old will be absent for Utrecht's trip to VVV Venlo on Sunday as they look to build on their ninth place in the league. The Dutch club are also missing forwards Frank Demouge and Jacob Mulenga due to injury.
