AZ stay top, second place Ajax win but the chasing pack drop points

AZ Alkmaar extended their lead at the top, second-placed Ajax notched a comfortable win while FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven lost ground with defeats. AZ moved three points clear at the top of the Eredivisie with a 2-0 win at De Graafschap. Rasmus Elm opened the score for AZ just after the break and Erik Falkenburg secured all three points with the second on 90 minutes. Ajax moved into second place with a comfortable 3-0 home win over RKC Waalwijk in their fifth successive league victory. Goals from Jan Vertonghen and Siem De Jong put them in control, before Lorenzo Ebicilio headed home Dmitry Bulykin's cross in the 89th minute to make 3-0. FC Twente now sit in third place as their title hopes suffered a setback with a 3-1 defeat at NEC Nijmegen. Lasse Schone opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 44th minute and goals from Kevin Conboy on 50 minutes and Genero Zeefuik nine minutes later put the hosts three up. Glynor Plet pulled one back for the visitors 13 minutes from time but it was too little too late. PSV Eindhoven move down to fourth with their second successive league defeat as a double from Santi Kolk helped secure a 3-1 victory for struggling NAC Breda who go 13th. Despite taking an early lead through Georginio Wijnaldum, the visitors conceded quick goals from Kolk and Anthony Lurling. PSV then lost Stanislav Manolev to a red card and NAC took advantage with another goal from Kolk after the interval. Feyenoord stay sixth as struggling FC Utrecht hit back to claim a 1-1 draw at De Kuip. Cederic van der Gun stepped off the bench to cancel out Otman Bakkal's early opener for the hosts.
