Vitesse Arnhem captain Richard Knopper has undergone knee surgery.
Vitesse Arnhem captain Richard Knopper has undergone knee surgery in a bid to return for the start of next season.
The former Heerenveen midfielder picked up an injury recently and a scan undertaken last week confirmed damage to the meniscus in his right knee.
Wednesday's operation removed a stray piece of the meniscus and is reported to have passed off without a hitch.
Knopper has been told he will be fit to resume training in around six weeks, which should allow him a free run through pre-season and into next term.
