Ajax win crunch clash

The big game of the weekend in Holland saw Ajax claim a 4-1 win over PSV Eindhoven at the Amsterdam ArenA. Martin Jol's side did all the damage in the first half with Siem de Jong and Urby Emanuelson both scoring. Marko Pantelic added a third on 65 minutes, before Balazs Dzsudzsak added a penalty for PSV, but it was a mere consolation for Fred Rutten's men as Luis Suarez made it 4-1 in injury time. The win means Ajax are now within a point of PSV, who remain in second, but are now five points adrift of Steve McClaren's FC Twente, who won on Friday evening. Feyenoord needed a last-minute equaliser to claim a 1-1 draw with Heracles. Everton had given the Almelo side the lead with just eight minutes remaining at De Kuip. But the home side secured a share of the spoils with Ron Vlaar scoring in injury time. The draw means Feyenoord remain fourth, while Heracles are in sixth. Vitesse Arnhem remain just one point, and one place, above the drop zone after they lost 1-0 at home to Heerenveen. The Frisians took the win courtesy of Roy Beerens' goal just seven minutes from time. Willem II gave their survival hopes a huge boost with a 3-1 home win over Sparta Rotterdam. Frank Demouge gave Willem the lead just four minutes in before Dele Adeleye put through his own net to double their advantage before the break. The win was sealed on the hour with Stefan Nijland scoring from the penalty spot. Sparta claimed a consolation late on through Rydell Poepon. The win means Willem move up one place to 16th and just one point off Vitesse, while Sparta are just a point further ahead.
