Willem II are planning a move for Debrecen striker Zsombor Kerekes.Willem II are planning a move for Debrecen striker Zsombor Kerekes.
The Hungary international has caught the eye of the Dutch club during Debrecen's exploits in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Kerekes scored in both legs of the 8-0 aggregate destruction of Hajduk Split and also played in the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this week.
The forward also netted for his country in a friendly against France at the end of May and is being lined up for a move to Holland.
The 31-year-old is aware of the interest from Willem II and is hoping Debrecen will not block his transfer, once the club's Champions League involvement is over.
"I lengthened my contract with DVSC this summer but I heard about their (Willem II) interest then," Kerekes told Nemzeti Sport.
"It is risky whether my present club will let me go or not but we could agree about it and I know they (Willem II) are willing to pay my price.
"I think it's more than possible that I'll play in the Netherlands in the autumn.
"They offered a good deal and I can't ignore it at my age.
"I'm nearly 32 and I think this is the last chance for me to go to quality championship abroad.
"I talked to Roda's Laszlo Bodnar and my team-mate Tibor Dombi, who played in Utrecht, about the possibilities in Holland."
