Real Madrid produced a "brilliant" performance to put their domestic woes behind them by beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Champions League.
Zinedine Zidane was full of praise for his team, who are currently sixth in La Liga, after Real Madrid thoroughly outclassed the Bundesliga side on German soil.
The result was made all the better as it was Real's first win at Dortmund in seven trips, having lost three and drawn three of their last six visits.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice after a Gareth Bale volley gave Real the lead, as the visiting forward-line caused constant trouble to the Dortmund defence in a relentless game.
"We played a great game from start to finish. We could have scored more. We had chances," said Zidane.
"We had a spectacular game, a brilliant game. The important thing is to score more than our opponents and we did that.
"I am delighted for Ronaldo and Bale. The side worked hard. The midfield worked very hard. I am extremely happy because they played a tremendous game."
The Frenchman lauded his players for their attitude when Dortmund pulled the game back to 2-1 early in the second-half, as Real stepped things up a gear to ensure they took the points back to the Spanish capital.
"We started well, the first half was brilliant as was the second. We showed authority. We had some difficult moments after the break but we played them out. It was perfect," Zidane said.
Real are on six points from two games, sharing the Group H lead with Premier League side Spurs.
