Charlie Nicholas provides his Europa League predictions as Tottenham and Liverpool look to secure qualification, while Celtic attempt to keep their hopes alive.

Both Premier League clubs can book their places in the knockout stages with victories in the penultimate round of group fixtures, while Charlie's former club Celtic, with just two points to their name, need to at least draw and hope Fenerbahce fail to beat Molde.

Here's what the Soccer Saturday pundit is predicting for Thursday night's action…

Qarabag v Tottenham

As clever as Mauricio Pochettino has been with getting the best out of his squad, can he really afford to use his big guns again? Every time I expect him to rest players he doesn't. Spurs are playing as well as anybody in the Premier League right now but they have to be careful.

Their cover in defence and up front is very limited and he will surely rotate this time with Chelsea awaiting on Sunday. They were very fortunate against Anderlecht, it's a very awkward place to go and the travelling does take its toll, so I'm expecting them to have to settle for a draw.

Charlie predicts: 1-1 and Toby Alderweireld to score first (120/1 with Sky Bet)

Liverpool v Bordeaux

Liverpool have some great momentum but the problem is it's been one-step forward then one backwards since Jurgen Klopp took charge. Now they've taken another big step forward and Klopp will be tempted to stick with the same team to a degree and build on that momentum. However, he'll also want to give Daniel Sturridge an hour and also get some more minutes in Christian Benteke.

I hope he tries them as a strike duo with Roberto Firmino in behind to see what he's got there. Firmino is working hard but he's not at the same level of Philippe Coutinho, who looks like he'll miss out but be back for the weekend. If that works then he's suddenly got a couple of exciting options to work with.

Charlie predicts: 2-0 and Daniel Sturridge to score first (15/1 with Sky Bet)

Celtic v Ajax

It's a must win for Celtic and even if they do so it might not be enough with a tough trip to Fenerahce to follow. They will take the energy and aggression from the crowd and look to break down the door in the opening 20 minutes. If they fail to do that and the fans start to go quiet then I think Ajax will pick them off.

They've been unconvincing throughout the campaign and I've not seen a win coming for them, which is why I've not been backing them and I'm afraid that continues.

Charlie predicts: 1-2 and Lasse Schone to score first (66/1 with Sky Bet)
