Scotland have been hit by another injury ahead of the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifying games, with Russell Anderson also pulling out of the squad.
The Sunderland defender has a leg injury and has not joined up with his team-mates for Saturday's game with Lithuania.
Head Coach Alex McLeish is also likely to be without his centre-back for the game with France next Wednesday.
Speaking in the Daily Express he said: "Unfortunately Russell is also out but we named a large squad in the first place to cover ourselves."
Anderson becomes the third player to drop out of the original 25-man squad through injury, with Kenny Miller and Gary Naysmith also set to miss out.
However, McLeish is remaining positive despite the withdrawals: "A couple of players have niggles but nothing that's troubling us and our focus is on preparing for Lithuania. We are in a positive mood."
