Eduardo da Silva scored twice as Croatia remained in control at the top of Euro 2008 qualifying Group E with a 2-0 victory over Estonia.
The Arsenal striker scored twice in the space of six minutes before the break to give Slaven Bilic's side a comfortable victory.
With Israel losing 3-0 to England at Wembley, Croatia are now two points clear at the top of the group.
Russia survived the dismissal of goalkeeper Vladimir Gabulov and saw Macedonia miss a penalty as they moved to the top of Group E.
Vasili Berezutsky had given Guus Hiddink's side the lead after eight minutes and they looked on course for a routine victory.
But Gabulov saw red for a professional foul on Velice Sumulikoski 20 minutes from time and the home team had substitute Viatcheslav Malafeev to thank as he kept out Igor Mitreski's resulting spot-kick.
Late goals from Andrei Ashavin and substitute Alexander Kerzhakov in the final six minutes added a gloss to the scoreline.
Russia are at Wembley on Wednesday for the crucial clash with England, but they will now be without the suspended Gabulov.
