Edwin van der Sar was a relieved man after Holland secured an injury-time victory over Albania in their Euro 2008 Group G qualifier.
The Dutch dominated throughout but did not make the breakthrough until added time when Ruud van Nistelrooy finally found the net.
Marco van Basten's side are now level with Romania at the top of the group after taking maximum points from their games against Albania and Bulgaria.
And Manchester United goalkeeper Van der Sar said: "What we tried to do was good, but it just didn't work out like we planned.
"Against Bulgaria we played well, here in Albania we created too little. A bit of good luck, but we leave here with a smile on our faces.
"We are very happy with this."
And Real Madrid striker Van Nistelrooy was only too aware how close Holland came to being on the wrong end of a shock scoreline.
He said: "We won in the final minute - we all worked very hard to reach that - the relief was enormous.
"It was a very difficult match. With a 0-0 it would have been a big party here."
