Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has underlined his desire to keep Wesley Sneijder at the club.
There has been renewed speculation about the Dutch playmaker's future since Inter missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification for next season, finishing a lowly sixth in Serie A.
But Moratti has confirmed he intends to keep Sneijder at the club, despite being less emphatic about the prospect of retaining several other stars.
"We consider him a main player for Inter's future. So there aren't problems", Moratti told a radio show made by
Inter Club Malta.
"Lucio? He has recently told us that he's uncertain so we'll see whether it might be better for him to move on.
"Diego Forlan? Lots of players are happy to remain at Inter, but we'll have to see if that happens or if it's better for them to go and play elsewhere."
Targets
In terms of bringing players to the club, Moratti was more circumspect given the financial constraints of Financial Fair Play (FFP).
But he did promise that supporters would enjoy the club's transfer market moves, with Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi believed to be a prime target.
Moratti added: "I don't know yet, because we have spoken about the huge focus on financial fair play.
"We are moving in a good way, anyway, and we will do, one way or another, something that will be liked by supporters.
"Lavezzi? For the moment what I think is that this transfer, if it is comes about, will be done very calmly and with due attention paid to the economics of the deal."
