He may now be 30 years of age, but the Chile international feels he has another challenge left in him.
He has previously turned out for Rayo Vallecano in Spain and Servette in Switzerland, but endured his struggles at both and swiftly returned to his native South America.
Valdivia is currently taking in a second spell at Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, and is enjoying his time in Sao Paulo, but admits the temptation is there to try and right a few wrongs.
He told Le Segunda: "I would love to return to Europe, but in a better situation than before.
"I played at a team (Vallecano) that were in the second division. When I arrived there was one manager, and then the next one didn't want me or any foreigners.
"Then I went to Switzerland to play for Servette and the club broke, which is not normal in Switzerland. So my experiences in Europe were rare.
"If I don't return to Europe, it's because I'm at a club that competes for the Libertadores every year, that plays in the Club World Cup, a league where I have been named the best number 10 in Brazil. Those are professional achievements which need to be highlighted."
