Dynamo Kiev defender Pape Diakhate is facing several months on the sidelines after breaking his collarbone.
The Senegal international, who signed from French side Nancy in July, injured his shoulder during the 2-0 victory over FC Kharkiv.
The defender's absence is a big blow to Senegal who play Burkina Faso on Saturday in a must-win African Cup of Nations qualifier.
"It is very difficult to give any exact date for when he might return," read an official club statement.
"He will be discharged from hospital on Friday and will then go through a two-week rehabilitation programme."
