Stiel: I should have injured Rooney

Stiel suggested that only Rooney's tender years stopped him coming out with his feet when the young England striker dived in on the Swiss keeper - earning himself a yellow card for his trouble.
However, Stiel insists that he could have approached the situation very differently.
"I will tell you what, Rooney was lucky; very lucky," Stiel told Reuters.
"I know he is a young player and before our 18-year-old (Johann Vonlanthen) came on he was the youngest one playing.
"I knew that, that is why I did not go into him hard. Normally in that kind of situation I would go in feet-first and not worry.
"But because it was him, and is only a young boy, I held off.
"Now I know better, he may be young but he is a hard and experienced player.
"If I had really gone feet first he would probably have had an injury and might not have walked off so nicely afterwards."
