Kieran Richardson and Sol Campbell are likely to be ruled out for Tuesday's game.Sven Goran Eriksson's England squad remains light in numbers with the news that both Kieran Richardson and Sol Campbell are unlikely to play any part in Tuesday's game with Colombia.
Richardson will be disappointed not to be able to build on a hugely promising debut against USA, courtesy of a hamstring complaint, whilst Campbell is to have an MRI scan on an ankle injury.
Already shorn of several of his top names, Eriksson has intimated that he may even have to name David James as an outfield substitute - such is the sparsity of his ranks.
Arsenal full-back Ashley Cole is another doubt with a slight hamstring injury, while Peter Crouch is doing everything possible to be declared fit to play on Tuesday.
The Southampton striker is desperate to make a midweek international debut and is quietly confident that he will play a part at some stage.
"I've got a couple of days to recover and it's going to be touch and go but I'm hopeful,'' conceded Crouch.
''Every half an hour I've been icing it so hopefully I'll be okay.
"Sven has not said anything about the game on Tuesday but he has told me to try to get right for the game, so I'm sure I will play some part.
"To be named in the team for Saturday and then to miss out was gutting. I've not been injured too often so I'm really frustrated to be injured now because these are a couple of games to really impress and I was desperate to do that.
"Hopefully I can get myself right for Tuesday and show what I can do.
"My mum, dad and sister are all out here so there is no pressure!"
England captain David Beckham has joined up the squad, along with Michael Owen, but Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves has been excused for club commitments.
