Juan Sebastian Veron has backed England to make a big impact at the World Cup.
Argentine ace Juan Sebastian Veron has backed England to make a big impact at the World Cup finals.
The Internazionale ace, is better placed than many given that he has spent a number of seasons playing in The Premiership with both Manchester United and Chelsea.
In an interview with El Espectador, Veron confirmed how highly he rates The Three Lions.
"Even though Brazil are the best team, England have players at the top of their level," he said.
"I like England very much because they have Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, John Terry and Steven Gerrard."
"And if David Beckham is charged up, I think they are candidates."
Veron himself is not involved with Argentina and is highly likely to be only watching the finals.
"For me, the stage of being one of the supporters has started," he said.
"Perhaps I'm a bit nostalgic because I've been representing the national team for several years, two World Cups, and I had thousands of positive experiences.
"I'll be one more fan giving Argentina my backing and confidence through television."
