Norwich keeper believes experience will help his game

John Ruddy is relishing the opportunity to link up with the England squad for Euro 2012 and hopes to learn from the experience. Ruddy is uncapped at international level but has been called up by Roy Hodgson for this summer's major tournament in Poland and Ukraine following an impressive season for Norwich City. He will be the third-choice goalkeeper behind No.1 Joe Hart and Robert Green, and believes working with such players can only be beneficial. The 25-year-old also feels that Norwich should take a great deal of credit for helping him gain such recognition.

Exceptional

Speaking about what he was looking forward to after being picked by Hodgson, Ruddy told Sky Sports News: "Apart from working day in and day out with world-class players, just to take the experience for what it is and that is to be a part of my country's squad for a major European Championship. "It is a fantastic honour for me and everyone connected with Norwich City as well. "It is just going to be an exceptional experience and I can't wait to get started. "I was very surprised. I received a phone call on Monday from Ray Clemence informing me that I had been selected."
