Alex McLeish will be confirmed as the new manager of Scotland at Hampden Park this morning.

McLeish, who has agreed a deal until 2020, will be introduced to the media by Scottish Football Association president Alan McRae at a news conference on Friday morning,

Sky Sports News reported on Wednesday that McLeish was in talks about returning to the role, 11 years after his first spell in charge.

McLeish was first appointed Scotland boss in 2007, leaving his post less than a year in to take charge of Birmingham City after narrowly missing out on qualification for Euro 2008.

Michael O'Neill turned down the opportunity to succeed Gordon Strachan - who left his post in October after Scotland failed to reach the World Cup finals - opting to extend his deal with Northern Ireland.

McLeish, who made 77 appearances for his country as a player, has also managed Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Belgian side Genk and Egyptian club Zamalek.
