Roy Carroll will miss Northern Ireland's European Qualifier against Romania on Saturday.

The goalkeeper has played every minute of Michael O'Neill's 15 competitive matches in charge, but abdominal pain will keep him out of the key game between Group F's top two.

Hamilton keeper Michael McGovern is in line to win a fourth cap at Windsor Park, where victory would give the Irish a two-point lead at the top.

McGovern was a second-half substitute last month during the 1-1 friendly draw with Qatar.

Trevor Carson is the only other keeper in the squad following Alan Mannus' decision to press ahead with his wedding and honeymoon, so 43-year-old coach Maik Taylor has been called up as cover.
