The wide-man, 25, was forced to miss training with the problem although coach Mick McCarthy is optimistic the Sunderland man will win his fitness race.
"Kevin should be fit for Tuesday," said McCarthy.
If Kilbane does not make it Gary Kelly is likely to switch flanks and play in front of Leeds United team-mate Ian Harte on the left hand side of midfield.
Meanwhile, McCarthy has called for more of the same against the Saudis knowng a 2-0 win will see the Irish through.
"Concentration will be the watchword on the night. They play one up with one behind, but we want to score the goals we need," added the Barnsley-born coach.
''We have to play like we've played the other games."
