Kerr is sweating over the fitness of star winger Damien Duff ahead of the clash after he picked up a knee knock in Saturday's last-gasp win over Albania.
Duff is likely to be given until the last minute to prove his fitness, but whatever the outcome Kerr will make changes to the side from the weekend to freshen things up.
Millwall midfielder Steven Reid may benefit from the shake-up as he is set to start should Duff miss out.
"Steven is an option to start the game. He was delighted to get on the pitch at the weekend and that was very positive for him, especially as he suffered no adverse reaction to the injury," said Kerr.
"We won't start with the same XI we started with on Saturday.
"Two games in such a short space of time is physically very demanding for the players - we have to consider that and it has to be part of the reason why there will be a change."
Kerr is ready to take a risk on the fitness of Blackburn ace Duff as he knows how important he is to the side.
"Damien is very important to this Irish team because he is arguably one of the greatest players in our history," added Kerr.
"He is still so young but he is already up there with the very best players Ireland have had over the years."
