Ruud van Nistelrooy has been reprimanded by Dutch coach Marco van Basten.Ruud van Nistelrooy was reprimanded by Dutch coach Marco van Basten following a training ground clash with a team-mate.
Van Nistelrooy and the rest of the Oranje squad are currently preparing for Holland's World Cup qualifying double-header against Czech Republic and Macedonia.
However, during training the Manchester United star clashed with AZ Alkmaar's highly-rated defender Ron Vlaar and caught him with a kick whilst he was on the floor.
Van Basten was forced to have strong words with van Nistelrooy.
"I indeed reprimanded Ruud and for me the case is now closed. He apologised and that's good enough for me," van Basten explained.
"We train always on the knife edge with a lot of emotion but I explained to Ruud that it is important that we control our emotions and treat team-mates with respect.
"Saturday will be an important match for both teams and the Czechs will do whatever is needed to win."
Van Nistelrooy confirmed he apologised to Vlaar.
"I spoke with the group and apologised to the player," said the United star.
"Sometimes I have a problem to keep my self control, it happens to me. In training I give everything."
Van Basten also confirmed that Wilfred Bouma, Olaf Lindenbergh and Ryan Babel would not be travelling to Prague on Saturday as he only wanted a 19-man party.
However, 20 will get on the plane after full back Jan Kromkamp limped out of training.
"We planned to travel with 19 players but because (Jan) Kromkamp is doubtful I added an extra player," he said.
"If Kromkamp is not able to play Nigel de Jong will be his logical replacement."
