Holland booked theirs and England's tickets to Germany with victory over the CzechsThe Netherlands booked their ticket to the World Cup finals and ensured England's qualification to Germany as well, with a 2-0 win in Czech Republic.
Marco van Basten's men knew victory would take them to Germany and they produced a polished display to dent the hopes of the team who started the day closest to them in Group One.
First half goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Barry Opdam were the undoing of Karel Bruckner's Czechs.
The game swung in the Dutch's favour on the half hour, as Edwin van der Sar saved a spot kick from Tomas Rosicky after Milan Baros had been felled in the box.
The Dutch darted up the other end almost immediately and van der Vaart slotted home after linking up well with Arjen Robben.
Opdam dealt a killer blow on 38 minutes when slotting home the second and the Oranje held firm to secure top spot in Group One.
The result also guarantees England one of the two best placed runners up spots and a place in Germany, while the Czechs will have to go to Finland and claim victory if they are to secure a place in the play-offs at the expense of Romania.
Adrian Mutu's first-half penalty kept Romania's qualification hopes alive as it handed them a 1-0 win in Finland.
Juventus forward Mutu struck the decisive blow on 42 minutes as he rammed home from the spot.
Mutu sent Jussi Jaaskelainen the wrong way from the spot after the keeper had fouled Ionut Mazilu.
Finland failed to fashion a response and the three points take Romania up into second, although they have played one game more than Czech Republic.
