Michael Ballack scored and Lukas Podolski was sent off as Germany defeated Georgia 2-0 in an international friendly in Rostock on Saturday evening.
Joachim Low's side gained a 24th minute lead through Bastian Schweinsteiger's 25-yard shot, but the real drama was still to come.
First Podolski was red-carded for a lunge at Zurab Khizanishvili in the 48th minute, and then the Blackburn defender was himself dismissed 14 minutes later by Gerald Lehner after a second yellow card.
Germany dominated much of the match and made sure of a morale boosting victory twenty minutes from time.
Having created the first goal for Schweinsteiger, Chelsea midfielder Ballack got on the scoresheet with a fine shot from the left hand edge of the area.
