Miroslav Karhan says Fifa do not want Slovakia to be at the World Cup in Germany.Slovakia captain Miroslav Karhan believes Fifa do not want Slovakia to be at the World Cup in Germany next year and that the referee favoured Spain in the play-off encounter on Saturday.
The Wolfsburg midfielder was outraged at some of the decisions given against his team in the 5-1 defeat and hinted at a conspiracy to ensure that Spain qualified ahead of Slovakia.
"Fifa do not want Slovakia at the World Cup," Karhan said. "Spain has more influence and would be a more prestigious participant at the World Cup. This is shameful and catastrophic."
Slovakia were beaten by a hat-trick from Liverpool's Luis Garcia and goals from Fernando Torres and Fernando Morientes, and were hindered by the sending off of Marian Had after he strongly disputed the awarding of a penalty for Spain's third goal.
Karhan is infuriated with the performance of Italian referee, Massimo de Santis, who he believes favoured the home side throughout the encounter.
"There should be no excuses, but the referee was a catastrophe and was against us for the entire match," he raged.
"After the sending off we were left with no chance."
Spain will qualify for the World Cup finals, barring a shock result, after the second leg in Bratislava on Wednesday.
