Lilian Thuram and Claude Makelele have been selected for France's Euro 2008 campaign.
Lilian Thuram and Claude Makelele have both been called up to help France qualify for Euro 2008.
Coach Raymond Domenech has recalled the Bleus veterans to his squad after talks with the duo, following the team's hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bosnia earlier this month without them.
Lyon striker Sidney Govou also returns to the ranks for France as Roma defender Philipope Mexes and midfielders Julien Faubert from Bordeaux and Jeremy Toulalan from Lyon make way.
With 121 caps to his name Thuram is France's most experienced international, but had been considering his international future after the country's World Cup final defeat to Italy.
Chelsea's defensive midfielder Makelele has also been selected, as Domenech hopes the player will renege on his decision to retire and join the squad for the important games against Georgia and Italy in September.
France's squad is as follows:
Gregory Coupet (Lyon), Mickael Landreau (Paris St Germain); Eric Abidal (Lyon), Jean-Alain Boumsong (Juventus), Francois Clerc (Lyon), William Gallas (Chelsea), Gael Givet (Monaco), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich), Liliam Thuram (Barcelona); Alou Diarra (Lens), Claude Makelele (Chelsea), Florent Malouda (Lyon), Rio Mavuba (Bordeaux), Patrick Vieira (Internazionale); Sidney Govou (Lyon), Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Franck Ribery (Marseille), Louis Saha (Manchester United), David Trezeguet (Juventus), Sylvain Wiltord (Lyon).
