Argentina coach Jose Pekerman was pleased to see his fringe players perform with credit against Holland on Wednesday.
The two sides played out a 0-0 draw in Frankfurt, as Argentina secured top spot in Group C at a canter.
Pekerman took the opportunity to look at a number of his squad members and was pleased with how they handled the occasion.
"The Dutch are a difficult team and players like (Gabriel) Milito, (Fabricio) Coloccini, (Leandro) Cufre and (Julio) Cruz had their debut and didn't have any problems," he said. "They did what they had to do in the match without any problem.
"I think that all the players in the squad are ready to play at any moment."
Pekerman was happy with the performance, as he added: "I think we saw two good teams who like to play good football."
Mexico lie in wait in the second round and Pekerman is expecting a tough test.
"Mexico are a tough team like all the ones that we have played against up until now," he added.
"The only difference is maybe that we know Mexico a little bit more than all the rest because we have played many times against them.
"We know the way in which their coach thinks and we even know many of their players.
"Besides all what we know about Mexico you can't say anything before playing any game.
"You have to plan what you want to do and then try to get the match sorted out as best as possible."
