The samba duo missed training on Wednesday due to injuries picked up in Monday's second round victory over Belgium.
Central defender Lucio incurred a knee injury in the triumph while goalkeeper Marcos suffered a swollen foot.
But Brazil's team doctor Jose Luis Runco is optimistic the pair will be ready for the quarter final showdown with England in Shizuoka.
Runco said: "If the game against England was today, the two players would not be fit.
"Lucio complained of hurting his knee in a collision. He has had intensive treatment but the pains have still not passed.
"Marcos felt a chronic inflammation in his right foot. It is being treated but it is only a light pain."
