"Wolves have been the best team in the league this year, and rightfully they sit where they sit in the table," said boss Tony Pulis. "They've invested in some quality players, and they look good on and off the ball. We know it will be a tough game.

"They've had some investment from overseas, and I have no problem with that - I say give them the credit they deserve. The people who have come in have backed the team and have seen some very good recruitment, with some players who are maybe above this level.

"We're looking forward to the game. It's one where we can see where we are against one of the best if not the best in the league."

Cardiff are six points behind Wolves with a game in hand, and will hope to maintain the pressure on them when they host Burton in a 3pm kick-off.

There are three sides behind Boro, meanwhile, who are all hoping to take their spot in the top six. Bristol City, who are seventh, travel to Barnsley, eighth-placed Preston head to Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, in ninth, visit Brentford.

Fulham are the nearest challengers to the top two but will need a big swing between now and the end of the season to make automatic promotion. The Cottagers are seven points behind Cardiff, having played a game more as well, as they head to Norwich on Friday.

Millwall have become unlikely outsiders for the play-offs after an incredible recent run and will hope to continue that in a 1pm kick-off against Nottingham Forest at The Den, while Leeds host Bolton and QPR make the short trip to Reading, who will be managed by Paul Clement for the first time after he replaced Jaap Stam in a 5.30pm start.

On Saturday, Steve Bruce takes Aston Villa to face his former side Hull, live on Sky Sports Football, while Birmingham meet Ipswich.
