Martin's starting stats

I was at the Manchester derby on Sunday where I witnessed the 50th league draw between the two clubs. Manchester United have won 60 of the 153 league derbies with City winning 43. Sunday's result was only the second draw in the last 25 meetings in all competitions.

It was Manchester City's first draw in the Premier League since a 1-1 draw at home to Hull in February. In City's previous 23 games they had won 17 and lost six.

The last match in which Manuel Pellegrini's side failed to score was at Barcelona on March 18 when Sergio Aguero missed a penalty, but City have scored in 22 consecutive games since then. In the Premier League, they last failed to score at Burnley on March 14 and have scored in 18 consecutive league matches since.

Also See:

Vincent Kompany has played six games in the Premier League this season and no goals have been scored against City in those six fixtures.

United are still on 249 goals against Man City in all competitions and City are still stuck on 99 league goals away to United.

Quite a few players were involved in their first Manchester derby on Sunday - Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Anthony Martial, Matteo Darmain and Jesse Lingard for United and Nicolas Otamendi, Bacary Sagna, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Wilfried Bony and Kelechi Iheanacho for City. It's unusual to have that many.

Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have extended their unbeaten Premier League run as centre-backs to 11 games (won eight, drawn three), while Joe Hart had his 100th Premier League shut-out for Man City.

Ton-tastic

Image: Joe Hart now has 100 Premier League clean sheets for Man City

I saw Joe Hart has now 100 clean sheets for Man City. Which goalkeeper has taken the least amount of games to keep 100 Premier League clean sheets? Alan Dobson, Essex

MARTIN SAYS: In his 240th appearance for the club Joe Hart kept his 100th clean sheet for Manchester City. He had previously kept 10 clean sheets for Birmingham, but he's not the quickest to reach three figures for one club.

Petr Cech has the bragging rights for that accolade as he took just 180 games to reach the milestone at Chelsea.

Pepe Reina is next on the list having reached 100 clean sheets for Liverpool in 198 games.

Peter Schmeichel reached his ton in 212 appearances for Manchester United while David Seaman took 225 games for Arsenal.

Hart is next on the list after doing it in 240 games for Man City. If you include his Birmingham days, it took him 259 Premier League appearances to get there, which puts him behind Edwn van der Sar who needed 246 matches for Fulham and Manchester United to reach 100 clean sheets.

Let me entertain you..

Image: Northampton Town fans haven't seen a 0-0 draw in the league for a long time

What is the longest current run a club has gone on without a 0-0 draw? Luke Voyce, London

MARTIN SAYS: Manchester City ended a run of 62 league games without a 0-0 draw in the Manchester derby on Sunday, but amazingly that wasn't the longest current run in English football.

Northampton Town are in the midst of a 74-game run without a 0-0 that stretches back to March 2014 when they were involved in a stalemate with Bristol Rovers in front of 5,000 fans at Sixfields Stadium. They travel to Newport on Saturday.

Brentford also feature high on the list as their recent 3-0 victory over Charlton was their 46th league game in a row without a goalless draw, while Shrewsbury haven't drawn 0-0 in 36 games and Birmingham fans haven't seen a 0-0 in 31 games.

Three clubs hold the joint-longest run in the Premier League: Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Norwich have all gone exactly 28 league games without a 0-0 draw.

Go fourth and conquer...

Jose Mourinho

What's the lowest points after 10 games for a side that has gone on to finish in the top four at the end of the season? @icecold1245

MARTIN SAYS: After winning the league by eight points last season, Chelsea's fall from grace has been dramatic. After 10 games they are in 15th place with just 11 points.

And the bad news for Chelsea fans is that Opta tell us that no Premier League team with less than 13 points after the first 10 games has ever managed to finish in the top four.

Two teams with 13 points have achieved it. Leeds United overcame a slow start in the 1998/99 season under David O'Leary to finish fourth with 67 points while Louis van Gaal's Manchester United finished fourth last season, despite only picking up 13 points in the first 10 games.

Chelsea can perhaps take most solace from Liverpool's effort in the 2006/07 season when they took just 14 points from their first 10 games but ended the campaign in third place and made the Champions League final only to be denied by AC Milan.

Hat-trick zeroes

giggs
Image: Ryan Giggs never scored a Premier League hat-trick for Manchester United

Who is the top scoring Premier League player to have never scored a Premier League hat-trick? Matt Piggott, Ipswich

MARTIN SAYS: Interestingly, Ryan Giggs is the man with the most Premier League goals to have never scored a hat-trick. The Manchester United stalwart found the net 109 times in the league but never bagged a treble.

His first ever Manchester United hat-trick actually came in 2009 when he scored three goals in an 8-2 friendly win over Chinese Super League team Hangzhou Greentown!

There are some notorious Premier League goalscorers who have never scored a treble. Former Bolton striker Kevin Davies scored 88 goals in the league without ever notching a hat-trick, Craig Bellamy follows him on 81 while Paolo Di Canio is next on the list with 66.

The next six are David Beckham (62), Niall Quinn (59), Lee Bowyer (57), Harry Kewell (57), Tim Cahill (56) and Jason Euell (56).

On the flip-side, Opta have also provided us with a list of players who scored the fewest Premier League goals overall, but did net a hat-trick.

Topping the charts there is Fredi Bobic, who scored just four goals in his spell with Bolton in 2002 but three of those came in one game against Ipswich Town.

Current Premier League players such as Callum Wilson of Bournemouth (five goals, one hat-trick), Yannick Bolasie of Crystal Palace (five goals, one hat-trick) and Georginio Wijnaldum of Newcastle (six goals, one hat-trick) rank high on the list while Shinji Kagawa is perhaps the most interesting player in the top five. Despite only scoring six goals in his Manchester United career, he managed to net a hat-trick against Norwich in 2013.
