Xavi thinks his former manager Pep Guardiola will "change the face of English football" when he takes over at Manchester City.
Former Barcelona boss Guardiola takes charge at City this summer after three years with Bayern Munich.
Xavi worked under Guardiola during four seasons with Barca, winning 14 major trophies.
And the midfielder told sc.qa: "It is a big opportunity for him at Manchester City. I think he will change the face of English football.
"If there is anyone capable of changing that mentality, it is Guardiola. It is a great opportunity but there will also be a lot of pressure, because everyone always expects a lot from Pep Guardiola.
"But he is without doubt one of the best coaches in the world at the moment."
Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi is currently playing for Al Sadd in Qatar.
He revealed that he still chats with Guardiola: "He is always thinking about football, in obsessive detail, he pays great attention to the details. We continue to talk regularly and we chat about football."
